This weekend's local interest is on club Christmas handicaps. Wallasey jumped the gun last weekend and held their run and presentation at Harrison Drive baths. Melissa Franks was overall winner, with youngster Margaret McNellis second and Rolf Westrom third. There was a real battle next, with Peter Graham just getting the better of Dave Bond and Mark Ellis, with captain Mike Stanley recording the fastest lap.
