A good turn-out and ideal weather made an enjoyable afternoon for all those who took part in the club's Christmas handicap last Saturday. Twenty runners took part in the main event for youths, juniors and seniors. The first six 'home' in the handicap event being Alan Nichols, Brian Woolford, Ian McIvor, Roy Parry, Bob Fullerton and Ray Wood. The event was over 3½ miles and Roy Parry, off scratch, ran an excellent race to return the time of18 mins. 9 secs. Eric Maddock and Alan Clarke returned times of 19 mins. 5 secs. and 19 mins. 45 secs., but with their handicaps were unable to gain a place.
