The Northumberland Coastal Run went through an area of outstanding natural beauty along the Northumberland coastal path from Beadnell Harbour to Alnmouth Estuary and kept as close to the coast as possible. The course was 14 miles and Mary Rees made the trip to the north east to compete and finished in 02:35 and won her age category.
