The Southport Seaside 10k course started on the Marine Drive outside Princes Park before completing an out-and-back section along the seafront and underneath the Southport Pier. The route then headed past the Pleasureland and along the promenade, to finish in Princes Park. It was an extremely fast, flat course that boasted real PB potential. Gareth Hughes took advantage of the flat course and finished in a personal best of 49:53. After the race Gareth said "More than happy. Almost four minutes off my previous best."
