The Cader Idris Mountain Race started and finished in the market town of Dolgellau, at sea level, and climbed almost 900m to the summit of Cader Idris. One of the real challenges of the race was the constantly changing terrain, switching from steep metalled roads to flat tracks behind Gwernan Lake, pitched steps up the Pony Path, and picking your way among the boulder fields on the final ascent and then you've got to do it all in reverse! The race attracted 286 finishers and three Wallasey AC runners were amongst them, the first being Phil Dabner. After the race Chris said "Stunning views from the top."
