John Armstrong led the five Wallasey AC runners home at the Liverpool Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, John finished in 03:35. The race started at the Royal Albert Dock and took in the city centre, including some of the city's most iconic buildings, music, sporting and cultural landmarks in an all-inclusive tour of the city. The course includes the famous Liver Building, Liverpool Town Hall, The Beatles Statue, The Cavern Club, Goodison Park Stadium, Anfield Stadium, Penny Lane, Stanley Park, Prince's Park, Sefton Park, and the Chinese Arch before the home straight on the promenade alongside the River Mersey, finishing at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool.
