Runners started the M2L Ultra Race beside Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United Football Club, the race followed the Trans-Pennine Trail, the Manchester Ship Canal and the River Mersey from Manchester to Liverpool. Alex Yem tackled his first 50 mile race and finished in an impressive 8th place in 7:52:41.
