Betws Ymlaen Community Group aimed to stage an event that was challenging and enjoyable for the competitors and that showcased the stunning lakes and forests around Betws-y-Coed, the Gateway to Snowdonia. The 10,000m course was around some of the most beautiful forest tracks Snowdonia has to offer and started from the centre of Betws-y-Coed then headed up through the forest behind St Mary's Church, around Llyn Elsi, finally emerging for the finish at the Waterloo Hotel after a gentle descent from the lake. Steve Smith was the first across the finish line for the club in 50:18 for 47th place.
