The Wirral Half Marathon was a point to point race on a flat course and started in Birkenhead Park, followed a path through the Birkenhead Docks to the River Mersey promenade at Seacombe Ferry and then on to New Brighton, then continued along the Wirral coastline as far as the Leasowe Castle Hotel where the course looped back and returned to the finish line on Coastal Drive. The race attracted 24 Wallasey A.C. runners, Phil Walton was first home for the club in an excellent 01:18:19 and 6th place overall, Vicky Kehoe was first lady back in a personal best 01:38:46 and 11th lady overall and second in her age category.
