Wallasey's ladies had a superb day at the Shell Chester Half Marathon winning the team event. The team of Claire Walton, Tricia Jones and Sharon Lamont beat off competition from 29 other club teams. Claire completed the course in 01:27 for second lady, a great result and a personal best. Tricia Jones was second in her age category returning an excellent 01:35 (20th) and Sharon Lamont set a personal best of 01:39 (35th). Jane Woodhead also set a personal best coming home in 01:43. The ladies second team finished in 9th place. The men's team finished in 17th place, the team consisted of Richard Saunders, Phil Bird, Barry Metcalfe and Paul Thelwell.
