John Armstrong travelled to Rapperswil-Jona on the banks of Lake Zurich to compete in this half ironman triathlon (swim 1.9km, bike 90km, run 21km). The water of Lake Zurich was clear and calm, the bike course was mountainous with hills known locally as 'witches hill' and 'the beast' but thankfully the run course was flat. He finished in a time of 5:55:30.
