Five Wallasey runners turned out for the first running of the northern version of the Hellrunner. First man name home was Joe Johnson in a very respectable 95th place (1:24), followed by Phil Cuthbert 132nd (1:27), Arthur Wilson 202nd (1:33), Ken Hilton 524th (1:49) and Ian McConnell 607th (1:55). The performances from Joe Johnson, Phil Cuthbert and Ken Hilton are especially pleasing given that all three raced in the Liverpool & District cross country at Beacon Park, Skelmersdale the day before the Hellrunner.
