Club Race Reports Season 2026-2027



Borders League



Race 1 - Llandegla - 04/10/2026 - Seniors


The first Borders League race of 2026-2027 took place at Llandegla. The course used the service road around the OnePlanet Adventure facility in Forest. 346 runners toed the line. The 8.3 km course was started on a hill and contained 230m of ascent and 160m of descent. Olly Chadwick ran well to finish second. The other counters for the men who finished fourth included Mike Jones (26th), Steven Leslie (38th), Oli Prichard (39th), Rob Pearse (48th), Alan Kennedy (74th), Pak Ho Chow (78th), Rich Webster (84th) and Dan Hoare (94th). The ladies finished fifth on the day with Elaine Opara leading them home in (29th). Other counters were Kat Cowdray (37th), Georgina Marsay (52nd), Sue Reynolds (63rd), Lisa Griffiths (65th) and Katie Bellew (68th).

Wirral Multi Terrain Series



Race 1 - Wirral Country Park - 01/09/2026 - Senior Women


The first Wirral Multi Terrain Series race was held on a sunny evening at Wirral Country Park. First home for the club was Elaine Opara in an excellent 15th place. Other counters for the 'A' team were Michele Alty (25th) and Kat Cowdray (26th). The ladies team finished in seventh place.

Race 1 - Wirral Country Park - 01/09/2026 - Senior Men


Wallasey AC had a one-two at the first Wirral Multi Terrain Series race held on a sunny evening at Wirral Country Park. Stephen Ferroni and Olly Chadwick battled at the front with the former hanging on to win by four seconds. Other counters for the 'A' team were Gabriel Pearse (8th), George Gillies (9th) and Patrick Cuthbert (12th). There were age category wins for Gabriel and Rob Pearse, Steven Leslie, Glen Groves and Tony Barbat. The men finished in first place and the 'B' team occupy third.

Race 1 - Wirral Country Park - 01/09/2026 - Under 15 Boys


Lawrence Cowdray competed in the under 15 race coming 10th.

Race 2 - Royden Park - 08/09/2026 - Senior Men


Wallasey AC had another one-two at the second Wirral Multi Terrain Series race held under sunny skies at Royden Park. The roles were reveresed on this occasion as Olly Chadwick outran Stephen Ferroni. Other counters for the 'A' team were Gabriel Pearse (7th), George Gillies (9th) and Patrick Cuthbert (12th). There were age category wins for Gabriel and Tony Barbat. The men finished in first place and the 'B' team finished fourth.

Race 2 - Royden Park - 08/09/2026 - Under 15 Boys


Lawrence Cowdray competed in the under 15 race coming 8th.

Race 2 - Royden Park - 08/09/2026 - Senior Women


The second Wirral Multi Terrain Series race was held under sunny skies at Royden Park. Elaine Opara was again first home for the club in an excellent 13th place. Other counters for the 'A' team were Michele Alty (23rd) and Kat Cowdray (33rd). The ladies team finished in seventh place.

Race 3 - Wirral Coastal Park - 15/09/2026 - Under 15 Boys


Lawrence Cowdray battled bravely after a fall to finish tenth at the third multi-terrain race held at Harrison Drive.

Race 3 - Wirral Coastal Park - 15/09/2026 - Senior Women


The women's team finished eighth at the third multi-terrain race held at Harrison Drive. Counters were Elaine Opara (17th), Michele Alty (25th) and Lisa Griffiths (29th). Wallasey AC hosted the event.

Race 3 - Wirral Coastal Park - 15/09/2026 - Senior Men


Olly Chadwick came away with a great win at the third multi-terrain race held at Harrison Drive. The men's team came second but retain first place overall. Other counters were Gabriel Pearse (5th), George Gillies (8th), Patrick Cuthbert (9th) and Mike Jones (14th). There were age category wins for Olly and Gabriel.

Race 4 - Arrowe Park - 22/09/2026 - Senior Women


The women's team finished eighth at the final multi-terrain race held at Arrowe Park. Counters were Elaine Opara (18th), Kat Cowdray (26th) and Michele Alty (28th). This left the ladies in seventh place overall.

Race 4 - Arrowe Park - 22/09/2026 - Senior Men


Olly Chadwick picked up another great win at the final multi-terrain race held at Arrowe Park to win the overall male series. The men's team finished in first place and won the series by 43 points, the first time the club has won this competition. Other counters were Gabriel Pearse (4th), George Gillies (7th), Patrick Cuthbert (8th) and Mike Jones (11th). There were age category wins for Olly, Gabriel, Richard Webster, Randal Jones and Neil Gibbons. The men also picked up seven individual series wins with Gabriel Pearse (U17), Olly Chadwick (U40), Steven Leslie (O40), Rob Pearse (O50), Randal Jones (O65) and Neil Gibbons (O70) all triumphant. After the race men's captain Rob Pearse said "Absolutely amazing everyone. Huge massive shout out to the men. Winners of the series for the first time ever and the 'B' team also came third overall as well. Brilliant performances today and right across all 4 races. Super proud."

Road Relays



North West Counties - Heaton Park - 12/09/2026 - Under 18 Men


Six runners represented the club at the North West Counties Road Relays held at Heaton Park. In the Under 18 Men's race the team of Patrick Cuthbert, Gabriel and Phoenox Pearse picked up bronze medals for third Merseyside team and finished fifth overall. The second team of Pak Ho Chow, Ashton Mountford and Joe Jones finished eleventh and seventh Merseyside team. Great running by all.

North West Counties - Heaton Park - 12/09/2026 - Senior Men


George Gillies, Rob Pearse, Scott Eves and Tony Barbat represented the club at the North West Counties Road Relays held at Heaton Park. In the Senior Men's race the team finished 53rd overall and 13th in Merseyside.

North West Counties - Heaton Park - 12/09/2026 - Senior Women


Jan McArd, Georgina Marsay and Zoe Crisp represented the club at the North West Counties Road Relays held at Heaton Park. In the Senior Women's race the team finished 51st overall and 15th in Merseyside.
