Almost 2,4000 runners got involved at one of the "most unique" events in the Wirral race calendar this weekend - as a new 5K course record was set.
The Port Sunlight Road Race returned on Sunday, June 7, featuring competitive 5K and 10K races, as well as a 1K fun run for children aged 12 and under.
The event, first held in 2012, is a key fixture in the region's running calendar and this year marked the 13th time it has taken place.
This year's race was organised by BTR Liverpool and the Port Sunlight Village Trust (PSVT), with Unilever Port Sunlight as the headline sponsor for the 11th consecutive year.
Wallasey Athletic Club runner Joseph Boden set a new male 5K course record, finishing in 15 minutes 25 seconds, breaking his own previous record set in 2019 by three seconds.
Joseph was one of three Wallasey Athletic Club runners to take top podium places in the 5K and 10K male and female categories.
The 10K race was won by Oliver Chadwick from Wallasey Athletic Club with a time of 33 minutes.
In the female category, Olivia Bramwell from Wallasey Athletic Club took first place in the 5K with a time of 18 minutes 35 seconds.
Nichola Cartwright won the 10K female race, clocking 39 minutes 16 seconds.
The event saw nearly 300 participants take on the dual challenge, running both the 5K and 10K races back-to-back.
