Wirral A.C. Prove Easy Winners

At Prenton on Saturday over seven muddy miles Wirral A.C. were easy winners of the final Liverpool League race. Pembroke A.C., like several clubs, were badly hit by sickness, but finished second, seven points clear of Liverpool University who were without John Jackson, away on U.A.U. representation.

First man home was Brian Woolford (Wallasey A.C.) who was out on his own after two miles when he got away from Wirral's John McAllister.

Woolford, who won the first race in the series, only ran when a late decision not to send a depleted team to Kendal's road race was made.

Obviously underrated by the handicappers, Liverpool University were runaway winners of the handicap held on the series of races.
