Road Racing Season



The little road racing Reason, which jams itself between the track and the cross-country season, is upon us, and Wallasey A.C. are first in the field from Merseyside with some prominent running in the Bury Road Relay in which they finished in third place.

The race was won by Bolton United, who also won in 1960, and was of four laps, each of three and a half miles. The winning time was 1 hour, 7 mins., 36 secs, and Wallasey did 1 hour 8 minutes 58 seconds.

B. Woolford, of Wallasey, set the fourth fastest time of the day on the first lap, which he covered in 16 mins., 51 secs. Fastest time went to M. W. Freary of Bolton, 16 mins, 20 secs.
