The sixth annual Hoylake 10km Run was the most successful ever with 262 entries from all over the country and even one all the way from New Zealand.
All the proceeds of the popular run which took place last month will go towards the Wednesday Special Needs Club which is based at Hoylake Community Centre.
This year the money will go towards paying for the new sensory garden and the softplay and sensory resources.
Plans are already in the pipeline for next year's event which will take place on September 11 2000 and sponsors are being sort.
Michael Stanley of Wallasey a member of Wallasey AC was the male winner with a time of 33.58 minutes.
Female winner was Helen Lawrence, 22, of Dovedale Road, Hoylake, who finished the run in 38.06 minutes. Helen is a member of Wirral AC.
