Last Saturday the above club held their Christmas Handicap, when there was a very good muster of runners.
A good trail was laid by C. H. Spence and F. L Thornton over a course of 5½ miles of road and country. The handicap was framed from A. G. Nicholson, the captain, and starts ran out to 6 minutes. The winner was R. Young, who, with 25secs. start, won easily from C. H. Spence (3.15), with Stuart Spence (5.30) third. S. Spence is quite a youngster and ran very well, quite deserving his prize. A prize was given to each man completing the course. The first to arrive were as follows: 1, R. Young; 2. G. Spence; 3. S. Spence; 4, T. Garnett; 5, A. G. Nicholson; 6, T. J. Brookes; 7, H. R. Scoins; 8. J. Maguire; 9, R. J. Lowes; 10, W. J. Pinfold.
A very enjoyable smoker was held in the evening, when the prizes were presented. Mr. A. Syson was chairman, and several items were rendered by members of the club and one or two friends. Mr. E. B. Mitchell very kindly acted as pianist.
There will be a run on Boxing Morning from Mr. Nicholson's house, Torrington-road, Liscard.
