Wallasey entertained old friends and rivals in Pembroke Harriers on Saturday last. The visitors brought over thirty runners, including their championship team.
Wallasey were rather poorly represented numerically, and in addition the paper for trail-laying purposes not having arrived, a run through was out of the question.
A strong pack therefore made for the country via Bidston and Moreton, the leaders maintaining, if not a racing, at any rate, a smart pace over heavy country in that direction, covering in all a distance of roughly six miles. About a mile from home, the combined teams lined up and a "break'' home ensued along the smooth highway of Leasowe-rd. T. N. Etheridge, of Wallasey, led from the word ''go" with R. Liddle in close attendance, which position he maintained to the finishing post by Wallasey Station. Pembroke packed in great style, and with the first six counting won comfortably by twelve points. The placings were as follows:-
Wallasey. Pembroke.
1 T. N. Etheridge Millington 3
2 R. Liddle Hoban 4
7 G. F. Lowes. Sablick 5
10 A. Macmaster Kyle 6
13 R. J. Lowes Muir 8
14 J. Eivers Sumner 9
47 points points 35
