Last Saturday John Lynch ran in the Hull City Marathon, and in finishing in 17th position he attained the highest placing ever by a Wallasey Athletic Club member in a marathon. His time for the 26 miles 385 yards course (the first 16 miles uphill) was 2 hrs. 54 mins. 29 secs - his second fastest.

John is to be specially commended for his performance, as he received no vocal support from the club in these marathons.
