Last Saturday Wallasey's athletes visited St. Helens for the Sutton 7-mile road race.
Dave Lockley, more at home on this course than on the national cross-country course two weeks earlier, ran extremely well to finish 29th out of a field of 300.
John Wright gradually returning to form finished 56th with a time of 37 mins. 54 secs.
Next home for Wallasey was Len Durkin 96th followed by Dave Hughes 134th. The race was won by Olympic 10,000 metre runner Ron Hill.
On Saturday there will be a run from club H.Q. at around 2.15.
