Wallasey Athletic Club's B. Thomson won the hammer and shot 'B' events in the first Northern League Division Two meeting of the season at Blackpool on Saturday.
He threw the hammer 129ft 9½in and the shot 31ft 4in, while his club-mate C. Preston was winning the hammer 'A' event with a distance of 159ft 1½in. Preston was also second in the discus 'B' event. But It was a poor team performance by Wallasey who finished bottom of the six contesting clubs mustering only 159 points, Manchester A.C. won with 237 points.
