Wallasey A.C. held its Christmas handicap and Tony Barbat, who has recently returned to training after several months out due to injury, stormed to victory.
Barbat finished third but, as the race was a handicap, he had the fastest overall time on the 2.6 mile course, finishing in 14min 45secs. Joe Johnson was second (14:58), while Carl Hampson finished first in 20:07. In the women's race, Anne Taylor-Kilbane won in 18:06. Second was Nicci Davies (19:58).
