An attempt by Wallasey Athletic Club to establish a 4 x 1 mile relay time of 19 mins. 40 secs. for the youths' race, came within 8 seconds of fruition when the 'A' team returned 19 minutes 48 seconds at Lingham Park track last Saturday.

25 September 1965   Runners fast times over Welsh coast
Of the twelve runners who took part in the weekend camp at Foel Glap Farm (Denbigh), six returned personal best times for the 3 mile hill course, three who were running this route for the first time recorded good times, whilst the remaining three were within 15 seconds of their best.

Running in the first inter-club cross-country race of the season, Dave Lockley had no trouble in winning over, a three-mile course in which a field of 29 runners faced conditions as hard as can be expected for the rest of the winter.

16 October 1965   Ron Barlow Does Fastest Time
Ron Barlow who ran the second leg for Wallasey Athletic' Club in the Sefton Park road relays held last Saturday, was only five seconds slower than the course record, the distance being over 3¼ miles. This performance by Barlow assisted the team attaining fifth position in the championships.

On Wednesday, November 17,Wallasey Athletic Club took part in the Waterloo Road Relay Festival, during which Ron Barlow ran incredibly well to do a faster time for the two mile leg than the Bolton Harriers and English international runner, Ron Hill. Barlow's time of 9 mins.

Two time trials were held by Wallasey Athletic Club at Lingham Park last Saturday over the one-mile and two-mile distances. In the two-mile race Dave Lockley ran with clockwork regularity and paced the leading group through five quarter-mile laps, each in exactly 75 seconds.
