Wallasey's youths team achieved their greatest victory to date when they won the Cheshire Youths championship at Bromborough on Saturday. Their close packing 2nd, 4th, 7th and 8th positions ensured a safe margin of three points over the second team, Wirral A.C.

The club held their Christmas handicap on Saturday, and an entry of 22 enjoyed an excellent run. Once again it was evident that the youths in the club are running extremely well, and they occupied the first four places in the race, in spite of large handicaps.

13 January 1951   Runners could not cross swollen Birket
Because of the rapid thaw at the end of the week the Birket had risen so high it was impossible to cross it, and Wallasey Athletic Club was therefore unable to run over the usual course. The fixture with Wirral A.C. had to be held over a distance of 7½ miles, most of which was road.
