Four of our runners tackled the Lakeland 4 Passes organised by Ascend Events. After the race aet said "Beautiful day in the Lake District, taking on the Four Passes race. Great fun, hard work at times, I'm calling Black Sail Pass Black Death Pass from now on, nearly finished me off! Staring at Gatescarth Fam, up the Honister pass to the slate mines. From here we dropped down to Seatoller and along to Seathwaite. The second climb was up to Sty Head before we dropped down the side of Great Gable to Wasdale. We then had the 2 mile climb up Black Sail Pass before dropping down the other side to the Black Sail Hut hostel. The final climb was up Scarth Gap, and then a brutal descent down a rocky path back to Gatescarth Farm to a plate of chilli or sausage casserole (or both!) and a cuppa! Hurt like hell, but I loved every minute of it!"
