Nearly 5,000 runners completed the in the Greater Manchester Marathon and some good performance were seen by Wallasey AC's athletes. Phil Walton made a great marathon debut completing the 26.2 mile course in 02:57 for 70th place. Mike Green also ran very well as he dipped under the three mark. Steve Smith came in next in 03:04 a great run after his recent injury problems and John Armstrong crossed the line in a personal best 03:18. Bryan Stevenson also set a personal best of 03:24 despite suffering from cramp in the last 5 miles.
