Borders League - Race 2 - Birkenhead Park organised by Wallasey AC on 08/11/2015 5.4 Miles (Seniors)
Wallasey AC had their highest ever number of runners (50) in a Borders league race at the second fixture in Birkenhead Park. There was also a record attendance for the Borders League with 370 runners completing the 4 lap circuit around the upper park. The ladies team fared best on the day with a victory in the second division and a sufficiently low score to propel them to the top of the division. Ladies counters were Sallie Holt (5th), Kim McEneany (22nd) and Mary Rees (26th). The ladies team totalled an impressive 22 runners. The men scored considerably better than the first race but succumbed to a strong Wirral AC side and were also knocked off the top of the table. Counters for the men were Greg Jones (12th), Rich Webster (13th), Joe Boden (15th), Connor McArdle (16th), Pete Bird (26th), Mike Green (30th), Colin Palmer (39th), Tony Barbat (50th), Rob Pearse (54th) and Bryan Stevenson (63rd). The race was organised by the club and was superbly marshalled by club members.
