The first fixture of the new season took place on a warm Sunday morning in Capenhurst. A flat 2 lap course of 5.3 miles was packed with Wallasey runners. The men were making there first division one appearance and finished an excellent 4th place despite missing some of the faster runners. Good packing enabled Wallasey to maintain a low score. The ladies finished fourth in division 2. First man home was Tony Barbat (22nd) with Joe Johnson showing good form next (45th). Nicci Davies (39th) was first lady counter.
