Four Wallasey AC athletes headed to Austria for an Ironman race. Klagenfurt, Austria is situated at one end of the beautiful Lake Worthersee. Athletes swam in the crystal-clear lake, biked through the scenic landscape of Carinthia from Klagenfurt to Villach to Lake Faaker See, and run from the transition area to Krumpendorf. The bike course, which has a "Tour de France" atmosphere, contained two steep climbs during each loop, the 'Rupertiberg' and the 'Riebnig' are the most popular spectator spots on the course. All the guys did well with John Thelwell coming back in 09:32 for 137th place.
