Nick Holt made the trip up to Scotland for the Loch Ness Marathon. Nick crossed the line in 4:01:11 and his rank was 990 and category position in Male Open was 435. Nick said "It was incredibly hilly and the downs where harder than the ups and there were many. But absolutely beautiful scenery and thoroughly enjoyable." The start was very wet and cold at the bottom of the Loch by Fort Augustus where all the competitors were bussed to in a convoy along the single track B road, which they then ran back along skirting the Loch (no sightings of Nessie apparently!) the weather did brighten up for the finish at Bught Park in Inverness where there was an event village set up to welcome the runners home. In all there were over 8000 runners for the 10k , 5k and Marathon with over 2000 taking on the challenge of the marathon. Well done to Nick on his great effort.
