The West Lancashire Novice Cross-Country Championship run at West Derby in last Saturday afternoon's downpour, resulted in a victory for Liverpool Harriers (4, 7, 8, 9).
Belying the promise which their performance earlier this season had given, the two Wallasey Athletic Club teams did not run well. The first Wallasey man home was Bob Fullerton (59th) in a field of 100 finishers and consequently Wallasey 'A' team had to be content with 14th place.
The coach for the Cheshire Cross-Country Championships at Stockport this Saturday leave Seacombe Ferry (Floating Roadway) promptly at 12:10 a.m.
At Wallasey Grammar School next Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. (not at 7.30 p.m. as announced last week) Denis Watts, A.A.A. coach, will deliver a 'General introduction to athletics' illustrated by loop films, for school and club members and anyone interested in the sport.
