The first annual general meeting of the above club was held on Wednesday evening, at 13, Trinity Road, Liscard, the chair being taken by Mr. A. Syson.
The following officers were appointed:- President, Mr. F. C. O'Connell; captain, Mr. T. J. Brookes; sub-captain, Mr. W. J. Pinfold; hon. Secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. R. Scoins, 'Edale', Withens Lane, Liscard, together with a committee of eight.
The club, which has been formed under the rules of the National Athletic Union, has secured excellent headquarters in the Grove Pavilion, Harrison Drive, from which place the first run of the season will take place next Saturday afternoon at 3:30. A large number of athletes have signified their intention of joining the club, and a very successful season is anticipated.
It is intended to hold several whist drives and dances, and also cinderellas during the season, the first function taking place towards the end of October. Further particulars with regard to the club can be obtained from the hon. Secretary and treasurer.
