The text of the address was as follows: -' We, the undersigned members of the West Cheshire Harriers, beg your acceptance of this illuminated address as a mark of our esteem and high appreciation of your services rendered to the furtherance of athletics, and especially for your untiring efforts at all times given in the interest and welfare of our club extending over the long period of 20 years. In asking your acceptance of this testimonial, we wish you, your wife and family, a long life of prosperity and happiness, and that you may long remain a member of our club is the wish of members.'
