Last Saturday Homecroft held a half-mile handicap the Tower Ground Track. There was a large entry, but many members were unable to reach the grounds In time for the start, and consequently only sixteen competitors turned out.
The contest was keen, however, and G. Mole won in very good time off the 65 yards mark, J. D. Jones being second with the same allowance, and R. H. Tipping third off 130 yards. It is possible that the club will hold a similar race on the same track before the season runs out, a special prize having been offered by one of its supporters for a novice sprint. Further particulars will be published later.
To-day Homecroft will hold an ordinary run from headquarters while on the 5th prox. they are to entertain Richmond Harriers with a run through.
