Homecroft visited Richmond Harriers last Saturday. The team took a course of about six miles, the last of which was the usual mile break home.
Homecroft mustered strongly, but were without the services of Barley, and this doubtless put a different complexion on the result. T. J. Brookes however, ran a brilliant race, and had it won with plenty to spare a furlong from home. But notwithstanding this, and in spite of having their six in the first eleven, Homecroft were beaten by the narrow margin of two points. It is not a bad performance away from home all the same. The actual placings were as follows:-
Richmond. Homecroft.
G. Cowell 2 T. J. Brookes 1
E. E Jones 3 L. Brookes 5
R. McCaughey 4 W. S. Brookes 6
A. Peacock 7 S. Gurnell 8
W. Hollond 10 G. Mole 9
D. Heggarty 12 J. D. Jones 11

To-day is to witness a most interesting encounter when a visit from Wallasey Harriers is expected. Both clubs will be running on familiar ground. The excitement already appears to be feverish, and the opposing teams are keen. History will surely be made. The pack will leave Manor-road at about 3.30.
