The first inter-club contest of the season in connection, with the above club was held last Saturday, when Liverpool Oddfellows Harriers were the visitors.
An enjoyable canter of about seven miles was taken, and the teams were out about an hour and a quarter. There was the usual break along Seabank-road, and the result was as follows :-
Homecroft. - J. B. Barley 1, T. J. Brookes 3, W. S. Brookes 5, S. L. Brookes 6, S. Gurnell 7, G. Mole 10 - total 32.
Oddfellows. - W. H. Mason 2, W. C. Chown 4, H. A. Hughes 8, W. R. Orme 9, E. Harries 11, C. Coupes 12 - total 46.
It will thus been seen that Homecroft won by 14 points.
Next Saturday Homecroft pay a visit to Richmond Harriers at Fazakerley. The run will again finish with a mile break. Members meet outside Liverpool Town Hall at 2.45 p.m. to take the Fazakerley car from Old Haymarket.
Supporters of the club will be glad to hear that its membership is steadily increasing there now being nearly fifty members. The latest addition being J. L. Turner, of the West of Scotland Harriers.
