The first run of the cross-country season took place last Saturday, when a few of the Club members covered a course of about five miles around the outskirts of the district.
The weather was warm, but not so the pace, for though enthusiastic, it was evident that the members were out for a ramble rather than a run, their travels occupying nearly an hour. To-day (Saturday) will also be devoted to an easy spin over a similar course, in which prospective members are cordially invited to join. The pack will leave the Y.M.C.A., Manor-road, at 3.15.
Club supporters will be pleased to hear that it is now affiliated to the Liverpool & District Cross-country Association. The Association's monstre meet, in which four or five hundred runners will take part, is to be held at Ormskirk on the 6th prox. Special cheap excursions will be run. Homecroft hope to have a large muster on the occasion, but of this more anon.
