The Homecroft contingent held their return fixture with Liverpool Protestant Reformers Harriers last Saturday, when they visited the headquarters of their opponents at Walton-lane.
The day was breezy and rather cold, but a brisk run over an easy course of about four miles was taken round the neighbourhood of West Derby and Clubmoor, finishing with a mile break along the Anfield trotting track, the result of which was as follows:
Homecroft: J. S. Gilbertson 2, T. J. Brookes 6, W. S. Brookes 7, S. L. Brookes 8, C. N. Hudson 10, E. H. A. Platt 13 - total 40.
Reformers: W. Sablich 1, M. Shipley 3, R. Evans 4, C. Millington 5, J. Dunne 9, F. Williams 11 - total 33.
On the Saturday of this week Homecroft will have Liverpool Pembroke Harriers as visitors. The run will take place at 3.15 from the headquarters, Manor-road, Egremont. There will be both a fast and a slow pack, as several new runners are expected to turn out. This will therefore give those who have never tested themselves at running an opportunity to do so, and all such will be cordially welcomed.
