The second social run of the season in connection with the above club took place on Saturday last. The slow pack started from headquarters soon after 3.30, but it was not till some 20 minutes later that the fast pack got away.
The venue was Heswall, Mr. Nicholson very kindly taking the clothes in his car. The fasts were expected to catch the first pack at Woodchurch; but though the latter waited some little time them they eventually reached their destination via Arrowe, Irby, and Pensby some five minutes ahead of the fasts, who look a different course after leaving Arrowe, cutting across the Park to Thingwall, thence along Barnston Dale and over the country into Heswall.
On reaching the Heswall Hotel tea was found to be ready and was thoroughly appreciated by all. In the evening a smoker was held, which proved a great success, the club having no lack of talent in this direction.
To-day the West Lancs. C.C.A. hold their novice team race from Stuart-road, Higher Tranmere, the following being the team entered by Wallasey: - L. D. Baker, A. G. Scoins, E. Figueiredo, T Hughes, S. W. Hodgson, and S. Spence. Reserves. - F. Eastwood, I. J. Daniell. Meet on 2.20 boat to Birkenhead.
