Last Saturday New Brighton were visited by their friends Sefton Harriers. Neither club was at full strength, and it was decided to have a friendly run finishing with a mile break.
A course of about five miles was accordingly taken, the pack being paced by New Brighton's Sub-captain, W. J. Pinfold. There was some good fun en route, especially when the Birket was reached. The mile break resulted in a very good race, the home team winning by the narrow margin of one point, although Sefton placed the first two men.
The placings were as follows:-
New Brighton. - H. R. Scoins 3, W. J. Pinfold 4, E. Cannon 5, F. Tennant 7, H. Syson 8; total, 27 points.
Sefton. - Hunter 1, O'Neill 2, Sheridan 6, Roe 9, Andrews 10. Total, 28 points.
To-day, Club run from headquarters, and next week inter-run with Wirral and Oddfellows at Tranmere.
