The above club had an ordinary run from headquarters Iast Saturday, two packs being sent out, the "slows" and the "fasts," each one traversing the same course of about five miles.
The "fasts" comprised the captain and three members of the Northern team. With regard to the Northern Counties Championships to-day, which are to be held at Haydock, Wallasey have been rather unfortunate, R. Young, who was unwell at the time of the district has not yet recovered, and will not be able to do himself justice, and J. D. Jones will not be able to turn out. R. J. Lowes, who had his ankle badly cut through being ''spiked" at the district, is nearly right again, and hopes to be running. The seven men in the team are:- E. S. Beele, T. J. Brookes, R. J. Lowes, F. L. Thornton, R. Young, C. H. Spence, and H. R. Scoins.
For those not going to Haydock there is an ordinary run from the Fairhaven Institute at 3.15 p.m.
Friends of the club are requested to remember the next whist drive and dance to be held on Thursday, March 3rd. at the Grosvenor Assembly Booms, Liscard; dancing 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tickets, 2s. each, may be obtained from any member of the club, or from Mr. H. R. Scoins, "Edale," Withens-lane, Liscard.
