On Saturday last Wallasey Harriers were joined by some friends from Liscard A.C., on the occasion of the second social run of the season.
There was a splendid muster of over 35 runners, who were sent off in four packs. No racing was indulged in, but for the sake of the novices training for the West Lancashire Novice Championship the pace was made a bit "hot." The number of really class novices who have joined Wallasey this season is remarkable, and there will be keen competition for places in the novice championship teams.
Training runs take place every Tuesday evening at 8 p,m., from headquarters, and commencing next week Thursday evenings will be devoted to walking.
After the run close on 40 members and friends sat down to a hot-pot at the Fairhaven Institute, followed by a "sing-song," which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Today's fixture is an inter club run with West Cheshire from headquarters (Thorndale Farm, Wallasey-road). Trail layers leave at 3.30 p.m.
