The triangular match at West Derby last Saturday resulted in a win for Bangor University A.C., who totalled 47 points to Sefton A.C.'s 61 and Wallasey A.C.'s 63 points.
The race, an extremely short one of four miles, was decided over two laps of a flagged course in the parks, and weather conditions were almost ideal. R. G. Jones and S. Jacobs, of the University, F. Rodgers, of Sefton, and W. R. Richardson set the pace and held the leading positions all the way; Jones eventually winning by some dozen yards from F. Rodgers.
Though packing well, actually the team finished in the first 15, Wallasey failed by two points to secure second place from Sefton.
The most noteworthy feature of the race was the improved form of several members. J. Edwards was outstanding in this respect, and in finishing 11th immediately behind N. Marples and K. Baird, he gave his best performance in inter-club events. H. Jones also gave a glimpse of his best form in securing the 15th place after a hard race with J. Davies, F. G. Ambrose and B. Morgan.
