The club opened the winter season with an easy-paced run over the usual seven miles course.
W. A. Geddes and K. .Baird were first away and led the main pack, which included several newcomers, across the marshes to Bidston, thence to the Upton footpath, where, bearing right, they made for Moreton, returning via the fields to Leasowe-road.
N. Marples, H. C. Binns, J. Davies and F. G. Ambrose were never far behind the leaders and are likely to show vast improvement this year.
A smaller pack covered a shorter four miles course and of these W. Moore and F. Jones, both newcomers, did well.
