Waterloo Harriers entertained Wallasey Athletic Club over a four miles course at Crosby last Saturday. Wallasey ran part of the senior (over 21) team which will compete in the West Lancs. Championships to-day, and all Juniors and Youths were rested.
The home club gave the Wallasey runners something to think about in the early stages of the race, but at two miles Wallasey had three of the four leading positions, K. A. Westmore being first, J. Edwards was second, and J. S. Arkless fourth. E. A. Sawyer was having a. tussle with N. Jones, Waterloo's famed track runner, for fifth position. K. A. Westmore finished an easy winner and Waterloo supplied the second runner in L. Coleman, who is a very promising Junior. Third was J. Edwards, recovering from a recent indisposition, closely followed by J. S. Arkless. E. A. Sawyer, J. Williams and F. K. Ledward completed the Wallasey team, six in the first, ten positions, which gave Wallasey la 10 points victory without being unduly extended.
J. S. Arkless showed improved form in holding fourth position throughout.
