Wallasey Athletic Club novices put in some hard training on Saturday last for the forthcoming West Lancashire championships, which will be held at West Derby on 1st December over a five mile course consisting mainly of fast grassland.
A course of approximately seven miles was covered with the accent mainly on speed training and J. Lynch, J. Winrow and A. Clarke in particular showed good form.
Don Anderson, English Schools half mile champion, is now in cross-country training again and accompanied this pack over the full distance together with newcomers Lilley and Pritchard.
The Seniors continued their training for the Cheshire County Championships by putting in some steady running over eight miles under vice-captain Bob .Johnston.
This afternoon commencing at 3.15 prompt, the club novice championship will be held over a five mile course and a very keen race is anticipated. A sealed handicap will also be run in conjunction with this race.

The club will hold their autumn dance at Harrison Hall to-night when we hope to see as many members and friends of the Club as possible. This dance should be a very enjoyable social occasion and dancing will commence at 7.30 p.m. to the music of Ken Charles and his band.
