Wallasey expects to be well represented at the Monstre Athletic Meet at Prenton this afternoon. The Club captain, J. Edwards, hopes that as many members and supporters as possible will be at the Swan Hotel, Woodchurch Road.
All the athletic clubs in Liverpool & District are sending across as many runners as they can for this grand combined turnout, which marks the beginning of the racing season.
At Wallasey Village to-day the six weeks' training course for newcomers and youths will be continued by the Wallasey Athletic Club. This afternoon hon. secretary A. P. Watson will crush them in roadwork and obstacles. Newcomers are welcome any Saturday afternoon, and they are recommended to be at the Club Headquarters at 2-30 p.m. sharp. Take a No. 2 bus to Green, Lane, Wallasey Village. The H.Q. is the tennis pavilion behind "The Willows," Green Lane, about 100 yards beyond the bridge and look for the notice on the right hand side. The Wallasey Club invite you on to a trial run! Running is a fine sport for keeping fit, and all you need is a pair of old trousers or shorts, a sweater, towel, and sports shoes.
