Members of the Wallasey Athletic Club travelled to Woolton on Saturday to compete against Liverpool H. & A. C. and Sefton Harriers when the Senior race resulted in a win for Liverpool with Sefton and Wallasey in the second and third positions.
The race was contested over six miles of very heavy going and Wallasey's counters were R. Johnston. W. J. Johnston, A. Clarke, J. Lynch. J. Winrow. C. R. Scammell and E. C. Foster in that order.
W. J. Johnston and Clarke both ran extremely well to confirm the improvement already shown this season, while Eric Maddock who finished in second place in the youth race is obviously coming back to his best form.
Applications for membership to assistant secretary Bob McCaig, 30 Taunton Road (Wallasey 8904) or vice-captain Bob Johnson. 65 Bell Road.
W.A.C. this Saturday have an inter-club fixture with Wirral at Prenton when we hope to see a good turn out of all sections including boys - meet Charing Cross 2.30 p.m.
