Wallasey Athletic Club's track championships will be concluded on Saturday at Leasowe Road playing fields when the main events will be the six miles and the long-jump.
With Bob Johnson now getting fit for the cross-country season, one need look no further for the six mile winner while the long jump appears to be equally certain for Len Platt.
Platt recently won the 440 yards championships in the good time of 54.2 with Reg Lancaster taking second place with 56.6 seconds.
Other results are junior three miles which was won by Eric Maddock in 16 minutes, 53 secs, and the youth's shot won by R. Wood with a putt of 32ft. 10ins. with J. Allan in second position.
The cross-country season will commence a week on Saturday, September 6th, with a club run from headquarters.
The members should note that the annual general meeting will be held on Thursday, September 25 at a venue to be announced later.
